If the memory card you insert already contains a file with a larger num-
ber, a new file will be assigned a number one higher than that of the last
file on the memory card.
We recommend using the [n Continuous] setting.
Folder names, on the other hand, appear in a format such as
“101_0501”. The first three digits indicate the folder number and the last
four digits indicate the month and day (May 1, for the example folder
above). In the same example, a recording with a file number of
“101-0107” is saved in the folder DCIM\101_0501 with a file name of
“MVI_0107.MP4” (for MP4 movies) or “IMG_0107.JPG” (for photos).
Folders can contain up to 500 files (MP4 movies and photos combined)
and a new folder is created every time a folder exceeds this number.
The first three digits of the file number range from 100 to 999 and the
last four digits range from 0001 to 9900. File numbers are automatically
assigned consecutive numbers.
[Auto Power Off]: In order to save power when the camcorder is powered
by a battery pack, it will automatically shut off if left without any operation
for 3 minutes.
Approximately 30 seconds before the camcorder shuts off, [Auto Power
Off] will appear. Operating any of the camcorder’s controls while the
message is displayed will prevent the camcorder from shutting off.
[Power On Using LCD Panel]: If set to [Enable], opening the LCD panel
turns the camcorder on while closing the LCD panel turns it off. Set to
[Off] to deactivate this feature. In either case, you can still use .
[Firmware]: You can verify the current version of the camcorder’s firm-
ware, which is the software that controls the camcorder. This menu option
is usually unavailable.
[Reset All]: Resets all of the camcorder’s settings.
